I accept instructions directly from solicitors on behalf of both pursuers and defenders. I also consider instructions from other organisations including insurance companies, professional regulatory bodies, medical defence groups and trade unions.
I do not accept self-referrals.
I can see clients in person or arrange remote consultations if this is preferable.
I am able to perform assessments at solicitors’ offices and outside regular office hours if required.
Letters of instruction should be sent to yameenqureshi@protonmail.com
As part of the letter of instruction, it is generally helpful to indicate the following:
1. The background to the case.
2. Any specific issues to be addressed.
3. Whether a remote or face-to-face appointment is required.
4. The approximate size of any medical records and other documents. This will enable me to provide an accurate quote.
5. The urgency of any reports.
Timescales
I endeavour to reply to enquiries within 24 hours of receiving an email.
I can usually offer an appointment within four weeks, however, I do consider requests for urgent reports.
I endeavour to return completed reports within three weeks of seeing the client and receiving all medical records.
Insight Medicolegal - Your trusted partner for Medicolegal Report Writing.
Medicolegal reports are documents that provide a detailed and objective account of medical findings and opinions within the context of legal proceedings. These reports play a crucial role in various legal situations, such as personal injury cases, medical malpractice lawsuits, workers' compensation claims, and criminal investigations. The purpose of a medicolegal report is to present accurate and relevant medical information to assist the legal system in understanding the medical aspects of a case.
Medicolegal issues are complex and require collaboration between healthcare professionals and legal experts to navigate the complexities of the healthcare system while upholding ethical standards and ensuring patient rights are protected. Laws and regulations may vary by jurisdiction, adding an additional layer of complexity to these matters.
It's important for medicolegal reports to be clear, concise, and objective, presenting the medical information in a way that is easily understandable for legal professionals. These reports are often used as evidence in court, and their accuracy and thoroughness can significantly impact the outcome of legal proceedings. Additionally, healthcare professionals providing medicolegal reports may be called upon to testify in court as expert witnesses based on the information presented in the report.
